    Power assist

Thanks for the response. We’ve had a cottage on Horsehead for 12 years now. It really is a hidden gem. We have 3 kids 15, 12 and 9 and spend as many weekends up there as we can in the Summer. Our place is on the West side of the main part of the lake, kind of right in the middle. We have a small...

    Power assist

Good morning friends! I haven’t been on here in a couple of years but thought I’d run this question by the group. During winterization last year, my marina noticed that my power steering “seals” were leaking and we agreed they should be replaced. Of course I never had a problem throughout the...

    Steering

I'm embarrassed and annoyed. Turns out my power steering was never connected. According to the mechanic that they were able to send out rather quickly, it must have been missed during the "boat prep". Being a newer boater and coming from a 40hp manual steering, I just assumed it was due to the...

No sounds that I have noticed. It is Seastar. Sounds like I'll need to have them look at it.

    Steering

I plan to ask the service manager this question but thought I might start here.  I have power-assist steering and have always assumed that I have to find the "sweet spot" for it to work smoothly.  For example, the steering is pretty tight when I'm trimmed all the way down.  Frankly, it only...

    Storage Warning/Lesson Learned

I noticed the same thing when I took that pic (the keel stops just before the end cap). Go figure, putting blocks under that uneven weight distribution resulted in crumpling. I am still considering a lift and also mulled over the same question of flat boards supporting all 3 toons. Based on the...

    Storage Warning/Lesson Learned

Talked to my Service and Sales Managers yesterday.  They both seem to think that the crack is not too bad and is right on the seam so welding it will not be a problem.  They are going to get it in the shop early next week for repair and deliver it to my dock prior to the holiday weekend. ...

    Storage Warning/Lesson Learned

Considering I had the trailer driver take me to the gas station first and filled 'er up with 45 gallons of gas, it's still a wonder I didn't sink like a rock. Granted, it's in the center toon but still. Anyway, hopefully will have an update tomorrow.

    Perimeter L.E.D lighting

I mounted mine from the front to rear weld seams and had to cut a couple of feet off of each side...seems like more than 16 ft considering it's a 24 ft boot. Might use the scrap for another project but will take some soldering/splicing?

    Storage Warning/Lesson Learned

I'm curious too. I'll have lots of questions for the shop. Also, as seen in the pics of the underside of the tube, the weld bead looks pretty shoddy...not quite the quality I was imagining. Waiting patiently for them to take a closer look at it as they have been pretty vague about whether I'm...

The mounting tracks have 3M backing. I placed under the outside deck, drilled holes through both the track and into the deck and reinforced with #6? panhead ss screws (3 per section). The sealed LED strip snapped securely into the track and also has 3M backing. Done. Instructions come with the...

Not sure (by year) if they're all set up the same. I unplugged the hot (orange) and ground (black) and piggybacked them onto the new incoming harness wires and plugged them back in. Easy-peasy.

    Storage Warning/Lesson Learned

I hope these copied okay. Just shows how impressively low my boat was riding with the right toon filling with water. The latest news is the boat is being looked at this week and they seem to think the seam can be welded. Ugh. Hopefully back by Memorial Day.

We may have a problem... Advice needed.

Wow, sorry to read about all of your troubles.  Sounds like the classic scenario where the dealer made a promise that may/may not be possible to fulfill.  It sounds like they are scrambling to do the best they can to rectify the matter.  However, I would think that if it comes to the point where...

    Storage Warning/Lesson Learned

I'm just glad the launch is pretty close. The motor was really getting low in the water with the back right corner nearly submerged.
