Congratulations and welcome to both boating and Bennington. Fun times ahead!

I don’t know much about the older Bennington’s, but there are a few in this forum that do. Hopefully one of them will see this and be able to give input on your model and layout, as well as how it compares to the R-series. It would have been a step down in model, but I don’t really know to what degree.

There are also a few Texans in this group, so hopefully one of them can give you good advice about winterization down there. Up here in Michigan, you gotta do it all, and then store it properly.

One thing I can provide my own advice on is the battery situation. I’d absolutely put on a second battery and a Perko switch if you plan on using the radio when not running the motor. Music (and some other electronics) can really drain a battery down after a few hours. You already have a big motor with a decent cranking draw, I’d want to insure it would start after “chillaxing” all day listening to tunes.
