Has anybody had a drastic change to the configuration of the filling of the fuel on the side on the outside. My anxiety level increases 100% trying to get gas into this pontoon. Has anybody made any drastic changes to make fueling easy. The fueling overrides the fun.

I purchased a battery-powered pump that fits right on my 5 gallon can. It has about a fiber 6-ft hose attached to it and makes adding fuel extremely easy. I'm assuming you're asking about your pontoon that's docked in the water for the summer.

I have made a drastic change to the side fill configuration on my 22 ft boat. Got rid of side fill for reasons unrelated to the problems I was having with filling. Your description of the fill spill problem is that it is hard to fill and it makes you anxious. Based on that description I do not know if your problem is the same as what I had. My problem was that if I filled slow and held the nozzle just so it might fill but it might spit back and stop. Before I totally got rid of the side fill I made a modification that allowed me to quickly fill to the brim (and beyond) but it was not EPA compliant. I can not recommend that fix in this public forum. I suppose I can recommend that modification for trouble shooting purposes only. Go up to the right hand corner and search using my name (DVW) and key word within content ‘side fill’.

Just to eliminate the basic stuff, are you using the filler tube?

Yes. I tried that little plastic thing inserted and then insured my hose and still running the same problem it could be the operator but I'm done with this I need something simple take a cap off put the gas in put the cap back on. Bada bing bada bang.

My neighbor purchased a used boat and didn’t receive the filler attachment. It was a new step for him while trying to fill with gas cans. The gas station pump would work, but not his old gas cans without the new filler tube.

I fill at my dock and used a shaker siphon on all my previous boats. It wouldn't work on my 2017 23RSB. I now use the battery powered transfer pump that Wardoggie showed above. Works great. No hassle and it empties a 5 gallon gas jug in about 2 minutes. You do have to position the nozzle correctly. Only insert it to the line shown. If you shove it all the way as far as it will go, the pump will think the tank is full and cut off. But if you position it correctly, it is flawless and easy.

Plus 1 on the Super Siphons ! Ive been using them since 2013 ,side fill and Direct Fill .

Thank you very much. Your analysis is very clear and easy to understand. Just put the tube in and let it go. I am guilty of shoving it in. Thanks again
