Just taking out of storage after 8 months. Fires immediately but sputters and stops. Did this about 20 times then gave up till I find a solution……what would you check first??

Indoor or outdoor storage? First thing I'd look at is possibly a block fuel filler vent hose. Is your fuel primer bulb staying hard or does it get "sucked" flat when the engine stalls? If so, then you have a clog somewhere causing too much vacuum and most likely a clogged vent

Sounds like the outside fuel/water separator (Yamaha) is clogged or need’s filling. Many people forget to fill up the canister before re installing. Good Luck
