I need to replace/upgrade my prop. It current has a 13.5 diameter with 12.5 pitch, I am thinking of going with a Talon 13.5 diameter with 10.5 pitch. Several prop selectors have recommended this change. Does anyone have any experience with this. We don’t pull anything we are just looking for overall performance.

More info is needed even if you got to propgods, like what RPM are you getting with the current prop (provided it isn't too damaged). Also besides not pulling, how heavy are you usually running? With only 90 HP the difference between 2-3 aboard versus 5-6 is huge (plus cooler?). Dropping 2" (~16%) may be too much for what you need...again depending on current performance if the prop is undamaged.
We run a Nemesis 13p by far the most. That prop pulls the motor (90 HP) below the the desired range with 4+ aboard AND pulling in turns. I've seen as low as ~4500 RPM. With same conditions, our Talon 12p keeps the RPM in the desired range through increased slippage as load increases. High-load speed may be slightly better, but not really worth the trouble of switching. With a more modest load, the Talon will over rev just a bit (not a lot).
As another data point, We recently pulled a large inflatable with two kids with 3 adults aboard and the performance was pretty good with the Nemesis...better than expected. The drag with that inflatable is surprisingly low when it's planed off.
Both a Talon 12p and a Nemesis 11p would likely work with less slip if you only have the basic Yamaha prop now (they have very high slip for use on pontoon boats).
