I want to tip my hat to Bennington.  We put our order in on a 2017 SSBXP this past December.  For flooring, we went with the Platnum Seagrass.  We love the feel of the seagrass on our feet, but we couldn't justify the extra $800+ at the time for beige over the $0 for the platinum.  Needless to say, many others felt the same way because we were notified just last week by Bennington that they are out of the platinum seagrass for the 2017 model year...and ist only February.  I would think that's a sign of a reputable company, with a very good upcoming business year.

Anyway, to compensate, they offered up in the email upgrading us to the beige at no additional cost.  We are new to Bennington, so our only experience is based on word of mouth recommendation about the AMAZING customer service experiences and quality build that Bennington focuses on.

This was our first interaction with it, and we are very pleased.  We didn't have to follow up, request the upgrade, switch to a downgrade (in our mind), etc...  They just put it out there right from the start all on their own. That is outstanding customer service!

For us, it also meant we just had a bit of dumb luck and got an upgrade we originally wanted, but couldn't justify in cost at the time.  Thank you Bennington!

One more plus for Bennington!

I am a little perplexed by this.  The boat builder in December was indicating all but their most expensive flooring was $0 which I believe was a mistake. In January all the flooring had a cost of approximately $800 other than the one expensive option which had a cost of about $4,000. They also quit offering Premium Seagrass and offered Slate Seagrass( which in my opinion looks like Premium) or the Beige Seagrass. I am hoping they are just saying they don't offer Premium Seagrass and still have both Slate and Beige. The Beige will not work well with the interior we selected so I am hoping that they still have Slate. I believe the Seagrass is the most popular flooring and I would be surprised if they were out of the darker version Slate  this early in the year

Are you sure it was no charge for "Seagrass"? I've never seen Seagrass as no charge. The "Woven Vinyl" has been a n/c?

I believe he said it was a upcharge above the one he originally picked.

At least on a SXP build in mid-December, the "Platnum Seagrass" was literally $0 if selected.  The "Beige Seagrass" at the time was something like $800-810 range.  At the time, we felt the varieance in color was so slight, we opted for the "Platnum" at no additional cost to save a little $ even though we liked the beige with our interior colors a little more.  I guess now we will get it in the end.  Anyway, just happy that Bennington did the right thing for us under these circumstances.

I am totally surprised they'd be out this early.  All I know is Bennington got with us through our dealer because they are out of the "Platnum seagrass" flooring. I also know that two weeks ago when I was messing around on the boat builder checking out an SPS PLUS, they no longer were offering the Platnum.  They must have really been swamped with orders vs. supply chain for the year on that one.

I believe Bennington does not offer Premium any more. They only offer Slate and Beige and that is why they can't get you the Premium.

We were looking at the Platinum Seagrass when we started planning to buy back in December and noticed that is disappeared from the boat builder. We were told by a couple of dealers that Bennington was dropping it because of complaints that it was to hot on your feet because it was such a dark color and had a lot of black woven into it. They said the new Slate Seagrass is supposed to be cooler and since then we've looked at both in person and the Seagrass slate is much lighter in color and we actually prefer it over the platinum for looks. I don't know if any of that is actually true or just what we were told but by looking at the two I believe the new will be cooler to the touch. I only wish that Bennington had offered it as the replacement for $0 like the Platinum was.
