Where can we download firmware updates for the vessel and the top display? Both have NO WIFI options and I cannot find anywhere to do this?
Dealerships are almost useless with any of this and me in many years of IT do many of these everyday on hardware.

I definitely have experiences bugs and really see options that need to be updated and added to make it even better for owners of this technology.

The emerging tech in cars, now permeating into boating, can just get maddening. It is awesome…until it isn’t, or an update goes sideways and glitches up other functions, settings, or actual code. I suspect it has to be done at a dealership, but honestly do not know. And like you mention, I don’t think this is something dealership networks are prepared for, experienced , or trained in.

Even more shockingly is the fact that car dealerships are little better off and they’ve been dealing with this much longer. Heaven help. You if you are at the mercy of the service tech on software glitches with all of our fancy electronics these days. About all they can do is try to do another software download/install and pray…lol

Right! It always looks snazzy upfront! Backend problems…Ugh!

Welcome to the new era of buying something brand new, so so so expensive now and having to take it to shop many times with alot of frustration to get anyone to work on it or fix the issues, REALLY taking all the fun out of boating anymore. This will be my last one for sure.

I'm waiting to see how this plays out as well. I believe I saw somewhere that there's a planned upgrade to the Vivid system that will add a maps function for '26. The hardware is still new enough and it's a common unit made by Medallion so the updates and new options should be compatible with current model year boats.

I guess it will all depend on if they choose to allow it to be included as an update or if they'll charge for it as an added option. I believe there's an update option in the display menu so I can't imagine it would be any more difficult than having a properly formatted, clean, usb drive with the appropriate file plugged into the service usb port inside the helm. The question is going to be what manner they will choose to make it available.

Yes that would be very good if they would let us download the updates like many other hardware vendors are now doing. I prefer it would be just like Simrad and how easy doing updates usually are when they come available. Mine is a 2026 model so hopefully I should get all the updates they can provide to add more features and kill the bugs out.

Looking at the builds for some of the '26's. The mapping looks like an $800 option to add to the 12' Vivid display. Looks like it definitely won't be included as part of an update.

That really really sucks!!!!!!!! As much as you pay for these and not get any updates at all???

I'm sure you can get updates, just not the maps. I suppose that might be something you can pay to have installed after the fact. I'll stick with my phone and Garmin maps app for that much.

neighbor here bought a new Manitou pontoon with the new Rotex motor. First launch and it had no reverse. Dealer came out with laptop and had to reprogram it. I prefer mechanical for stuff like that

Sorry to tell you that technology will never stop and you will see more and more of it. Yes its very hard for the ones that do not have much technology experience or grown up with it. For me though I just want the ability to fix all the tech devices myself and check logs of what is going on. I can't even get a firmware so far so not for sure where this will ever go.
