I will be placing an order for a 2017 Swingback, here's the question. How much difference does the 16" on center cross members make? The difference in price between the G and a nicely finished SXP, and why is it that the 23 GSB is bigger than the 24 SPX? I will order with the SPS package. Input is appreciated. Thanks Hugh Hebert

You will not notice a difference. I have literally jumped my S series over waves and not had an issue. Plus, they are both covered for lifetime deck, hull warranty so if an issue arises, they're correct it.

I agree with lakeliving on the cross members. We bought a SSLX because my wife like that floor plan better than any in the G series. As for sizing, the S series toons are called out differently than the other series.

The difference in cross-members is probably difficult to quantify but I believe the idea is to reduce "flex". However, it's probably not needed on a "lighter" toon or they would use them. As Lakeliving stated, you won't even know the difference. Go for the model you like and that fits your budget. Have fun with your order and welcome to the "club"!

Thanks for he insight, got a difficult decision, the G is a bit bigger, comes with the rear speakers and available with the white interior, apples to apples probably 7k more and comes with a few more features, I really like the helm an the new SXP with the GPS in the middle. I am the guy that wants a great sound system like JL with 7.7 and subs great amp. But the Kicker from the factory comes with a 10 year backing, hard to pass up.

Either way you can't go wrong. We are going from an R to a G and probably would have gone S Premium, but they didn't offer the forward facing co captain lounger, and gained that extra foot. Don't worry about the joist difference. I didn't feel any noticeable difference when I jumped up and down on the decks on both series at my dealer.

I'm also into my music, whether it be at home, in the car or on the water. We bought off the lot so I had no choice in the matter, but I'm here to say that the base stereo with six speakers is a very pleasant surprise. Add the Kicker sub and I'm sure I'd be half way to heaven.

We struggled with this same decision, and the 16" v 24" cross-member supports was one of our biggest hang-ups between the SXP's and the G's/R's.

We went with the s-series for our order after numerous recommendations that it would not matter for us.  It allowed us to shift the same money 50-50 between keeping more of it ourselves   :D , and adding in a fair number of upgrades on our boat order.  B)

We are currently waiting on our 2017 SSBXP to be built.  The dealer said recently that they are getting close to ours in the lineup, and we couldn't be happier.  Whichever direction you go in, I bet you are going to be thrilled!

As an FYI, if you go with the SXP, they just added an SPS Plus option, which allows you to go up to 250hp.  Not sure if you want that much, but just in case, I thought I would toss that out there.  They added this option about a month after we put our order in...D'oh!
