Good morning to all . I am new to Bennington, I had a few other pontoons non bennington with fuel water separators. I am curious if I should mount one on my bennington. To me it's insurance knowing it's cleaner with the gas we have today. If I should mount one where would be a good location to mount it without having issues. Thanks for all the help

What motor do you have. I believe the Yamahas come standard with the 10 micron remote filter.

And your positive you don’t have one already. Piggy backing off Andy’s reply above, I know the mercury’s come with one too. I guess I’d assumed all the newer motors come with some sort of fuel water separator/filter.

If you have to add one yourself, I’d think across the transom area between the boat and motor for easy access when needing to change it/drain it/replace it.

Mine was hidden under a rear cushion that is held on by velcro.

Mine is the SSLX with the double wide lounger in the back.

I also thought separator was standard.

Mine came with a fuel separator but only because it was part of my saltwater package. Otherwise I have seen it as an option to check off.

Mine was standard. See part of my invoice. 10 micron filter... standard. I think that means the fuel/water separator. I’m just trying to find it. Time for a change. Just did my 100 hour maintenance., and this is all that’s left to do.

I had to run by the dealership to find out where it was in this boat. Never would have found it. I had no idea the backs of the rear loungers come off. There it is. You can see about 2” of the bottom of the filter at the top of that compartment, so if you don’t think you have one, check there.
