46" instead of 52"

I purchased the 2275 GCW with a Yamaha 150 motor. I ordered the 52" ski pylon. The boat arrived today and I am very excited. It came with the 46" ski pylon. When I asked why I was told that the 52" will not work with this boat. Does anyone know why and if it isn't able to be used then why is it an option?

52" pylon is used for large cowling engines...like a Verado 300 hp. 46" pylon is correct for your configuration! TB

My dealer ordered the 52" plyon with my 150 Merc Optimax 150 PRO XS engine and I haven't had any issues with using it. I probably could have gotten away with the 46" but the 52 has been fine
