We just purchased a 2026 M 22. We are going to have the Bennington Dealer install a Power Pole. With the new length on the back of the boat compared to the older models, what is the best place to have it mounted that it will look good? The dealer would like to install it on the back left but I’m not loving the look. Any suggestions would be appreciated. We boat mainly in the gulf and anchor on small islands.
With that tow rig you dont have many options on the stern. Port toon or bust. But I want to say I've seen them mounted on boats at the bow, which looks really awful IMO but again sometimes you don't have a lot of areas to work with. You might want to consider a few Stick-It anchor pins - manual yes, but you can put those anywhere or just cleat it.
I think you're stuck with the port toon if its gonna be on the back. I have seen a couple videos on you tube where they mounted it between the tow bar mount and the ladder, but I would want the power pole as far away from the ladder and people climbing in and out of the boat as possible. The front would likely require modifications to your cover as well since most of them go all the way to the front of the deck. Plus you have line of sight issues potentially with the big arm standing straight up. I actually like the looks of the power poles on the stern.

Thank you. I agree with you. The front definitely would not work for a lot of reasons. Installing it between the tow bar mount and the ladder seems to be a bad idea from people running into it to possible injury. It looks like it’s port toon. I will post pictures once it is installed.
