Scott1, thanks for sharing the information guide. That would have been very useful when I was trying to navigate the showroom during my buying research. Is that available in the Bennington website?

Great information, Thanks

I just googled some terms and it came up. Not sure if the Bennington site has this anywhere.

Something I didn't know and found interesting is it appears there is a much more difference between SPS and SPS+ than some of us realized.

"SPS+ is for engines over 200hp with heavier duty construction. Upgrades include a composite transom, additional brackets, internal bracing, weld spacing, and an aluminum thickness of .100 throughout."

I really appreciated the model decoder.

Looks like they are a discontinuing the SX lineup. This will be my second Bennington ( G series and now SX) that I purchased and within two years it is discontinued.

Maybe the strategy is to replace the SX with the M models? I had difficulty comparing the two models as a nicely equipped SX was very close to a M, but in my case much cheaper given purchase timing of new non-current year end deal.

The M is supposed to sit between the L and R and now it's between the S and L??? And L is considered "high end???"

With price increases everything is high end, lol. Looks like this is the last year for the L
I've also seen some Bennington videos calling the "M" series Mid. So I don't know where the M series falls, but they are nice.

Funny - when I was purchasing my 22 SXSB in December, it seemed to have everything I wanted.

Now that I have not seen it in a few months, and looking at the model chart, I have this impression that I downgraded and have a cheap boat.

I need to look in the mirror and remind myself that I upgraded to a SPS tritoon with a 150 (previously a pontoon with a 115).

Maybe I need to walk through the dealership again! What is that disease called when you want to keep shopping for the next pontoon? I am driving my wife crazy.
I watched a video on YouTube last night going over most all the models. The SXS was impressive so I think you did alright :)
This one talks about all the Helm upgrades on each model

This is accurate info as it’s focused on the heavier duty construction to support motors up to 250HP on an SPS hull. For instance, I replied to someone recently regarding SPS v SPS+ vs ESP in regards to difference between them/what to expect in performance between them.

In the end SPS and SPS+ will perform identically on the water (turning, buoyancy, ride quality, etc) aside from the possibility of a larger 250HP motor. However, the SPS+ should prove more durable/resilient than the normal SPS with some of the additional brackets, bracing, and tube thickness.

I agree, the design for performance is the same. I knew about the .100 thickness, but I didn't know about the extra brackets, bracing and weld spacing or composite transom. I just thought the .100 thickness is why it was rated for 250 hp.

Settle down Pbakk! In your first sentence, you indicated that your new boat had everything you wanted. I have no doubt that she’ll be the apple of your eye. Enjoy her…

All good. I need to work on my sarcasm skills as I must have failed in my message. I love the new pontoon but will always appreciate the new model and updates.

You almost pulled it off! It didn’t quite seem right to me.

I find the addition of the L and certain #X Series just a few years ago, to now be replaced by a M Series, is a strange move / confusing. And I think Bennington would benefit from doing one of those model Matrix's that compared the models and features. I did this and found the R had features that either I did not want or care about, while the L series had many of the upgrades the S did not have (no SX that year). But that took hours (days actually). It would be interesting to get a take on their vision with these moves.
