I was told that I would gain about 2-4MPH on my 90hp motor yamaha pushing a 22SL bennington if I replace with SS. Is that true and what do I need to order to get the correct prop. Currently, full tank me and the wife can reach about 26.2MPH GPS.

Thanks Lebeau

Same prop in SS.....not true. Prop dimensions need to change to make any type of performance gains. What is your current prop (dia./pitch) and rpm's @ WOT?

You can gain in performance with same dimensions on a prop but made of different material's or models/styles. However, on a 90 hp setup it is doubtful you would see much change at all, its more on the high hp engines that the torque can distort an aluminum prop enough to change the effective pitch. SS is also thinner for less drag, but again at the speeds a 90hp toon goes its probably not going to me measurable.

Ditto^^ I had a 90 on my last Bennington, your doing pretty good. Changing specs to get a higher mph, will probably cost you in the holeshot
