Aluminum restoration

The idea is or would be to make it so that if dammage happens I don't have to remove/ and refinish. Clear powder coat is tough but would get beat up just like every other finish. The removable 3M clear bra material is great because if you get dammage you can simply remove the section and re do it easy peezy.

But to be be honest I don't think I will be scratching up these surfaces again. I'm gonna implement a new procedure that includes a rubber or neopream Matt that i lay down before I open up the box anchor that what the Matt can take all the abuse when the anchor gets taken out

Rocky; the great thing about raw aluminum tubes is you can touch them up real quick and easy if you have a small scratch or scuff. The min you coat the tubes with Anytning now touch up is not so easy. Even shark hide needs maintaining and touch up.  Anodized tubes would be great for all of 5 mins or until you put a bumper on your boat and tied to a dock. You can't touch up or blend in Anodizing. You would need to strip and Re do the entire tube No Thanks.

Perhaps clear protection bennington stickers should or could be a item bennington could offer. Most new cars have the option of adding a clear protection sticker to the rear bumper below the trunk to help people from not scuffing their paint on their rear bumper. Toyota wanted a $150 for a Clearpaint protection for the rear bumper of the Prius.

Well I showed up to pick up my Finished pieces. The sides were wrapped up so I couldn't see how they turned out. ( I better open them up and take a look)

because when I loaded up the front piece I noticed a few scratches that looked like after it was Anodized it got scratched,  They seemd kinda put off that wanted them to re-do the pieces, after all they were not that big. But I figured all the work to take these off and pack them up and haul them down and back and install why not get it as good as I can. I figured I have time if summer was here I would be in a hurry, but I want them to look as nice as they can for all the effort I'm putting in I don't want "just OK" so 1 more week for them to re do the piece and we can try again

Well I'm happy to report all my Anodizing came out great. The color and finish matches perfectly.

It's nice to be able to repair things and bring them back to almost new. Over the years you pick up battle scars & having to constantly look at them is (to me)a reminder of "whoops or carelessness". I know a boat is not a appreciating asset, but I can't help think of the $ loss in my investment when I get damage. To me keeping my boat as good as I can keep it is me protecting my investment and keeping the thought of buying a new boat way way in the back of my mind.

Looks Great
