Another Hoist Guide Question

I just purchased a new Shorestation with this setup and I'm very excited - moving from bunks like OP. The guides on my old lift marked the sides of my toons up pretty dramatically. Another bit benefit of the toonrails is the ability to handle shallower water.

Yes, Toonrails would be instead of bunks.

Thank you for the response —- have you heard of Feighnor in Michigan, durable, etc ?

I’ve heard of good things about Feighnor. They are local to us in mid-Michigan. Actually, 2 former students of mine were kids of the owners. I think the daughter has been working in the family business since H.S. & College. They’ graduated about 10-15 years ago, so for all I know they manage or run it now. That aside, and not because of that connection, I have heard very good things about their docks. Don’t know as much about their lifts, but if on par with their docks, should be good.

Yes, Toonrails lift by the deck.. but if you are getting a large gas tank in the center toon (mine will be 73 gallons, 440 pounds) Bennington even recommended supporting with bunks for the toons. Hoist and trailer.

Anybody use this type of guide system? Nucraft has a setup like this and Bulmann (picture) has it too. The center guides actually stick out beyond the bunks to align before entering the bunks. I think I'm leaning towards Bulmann because they offer Hydraulic lifting and front bow stops. I'm just wondering if I come in and get blown sideways is there any risk of hitting the lift vertical frame post metal then requiring some type of side guide.
