I have a 2075GS with a Yamaha 90hp. The original prop is an aluminum 13 5/8 X 13-K. It runs good so I figured a stainless would do good. Far from it. the prop it terrible. It is a Yamaha pontoon prop and was shown to be the best for a pontoon boat. I am just going to buy a new aluminum unless someone is having better luck with a stainless and can let me know what y'all are using. Thanks

You really are not going to get better performance from a SS prop unless you are at 150HP or more on a pontoon, especially if it is a tritoon. The SS props are good at not flexing, and consequently providing better thrust (depending on the specific brand/style/size), but you don’t get the aluminum props flexing and losing grip until about 150HP and on up.

For the money, you should be just as good with the right aluminum prop on the 90HP Yamaha as a SS. If you played around with SS props, you’d find one that gives good performance, but again, nothing more than you’ll be able to already achieve with aluminum.

Should I stay with an aluminum and go up in pitch or stay with what I have? Maybe go with a 14 instead of 13 pitch? Just trying to get an overall idea of what diameter and pitch others are using.

I’m not familiar with the 90’s myself, but I am sure some on here are and can chime in with better specific ideas. That said…

Is your Bennington a dual or tri-toon? Maybe more importantly at this point, what are your RPM’s & MPH at WOT? And finally, are the pontoons clean, or do they have some algae/scum build up?

What you have already in regards to type/diameter/pitch might be dialed in, or maybe it could be dialed in more. Answers to some of the above questions will help people give some good advice.

We have a 2014 24SSRX with twin toons and a Yamaha 90 we have tried 3 props, 13.75x15 23 mph at 5100 WOT , 14x11, 22 mph at

We have a 24 SSRX with twin toons, 90 Yamaha, and have tried out 3 props, 13.75x15, 23 mph at 5100 rpm WOT, 14x11, 22 mph at 6100 WOT and a 14x13, 22.9 mph at 5800 WOt, all on GPs with 2 people 1/2 tank gas.
Hope this helps you a bit

We have a 20 SVF with a 90 on it and I changed this year to a black diamond 14-12
Originally the boat was equipped with the K series 14-14 and we got 23 mph under perfect conditions and only running 5450 rpm WOT. The black diamond 14-12 this season got us 26mph with clean toons, two of us on board and a full tank of gas. We hit right at 5800 rpm. I’m satisfied I’m dialed in as best I can be for a two toon.

I just checked the Yamaha Performance Bulletins for pontoons fitted with the F90, and here's what I found:

Using the Yamaha Prop Selector for a pontoon with the F90, current pitch 13, max RPM of 6050, here are the results:

If your WOT RPM is about what I guessed at (6050RPM), then I would say give the K series aluminum 13-5/8 x 14 some consideration.
If WOT RPM isn't what I guessed at, then head over to the prop selector site and run through the six steps for final recommendations.
