Wednesday night 1A.M I decided to copy and paste my build sheet into Craigslist a throw up a few photos... Just to see.

Saturday get an email while on the lake... Tell them to stop at the dock and take a peek...then a ride...then a conversation about price...then a loooooong night debating on said price.

Sunday send counter...go to church, pray...receive offer...accept...cry, then go to boat and apply July coat of 303... While there new owner stops buy and asks why I'm cleaning a boat I just sold... I held back from crying.

Got the check today. Great people, and I feel like I'm giving my girl to a nice family. I'll return to boating, but right now is not the right time. (More on that for another day) If I had to do it all over again I would, as this forum and theses friends helped make my experience even more enjoyable. I'll still be on here pestering you all but just wanted to thank each and everyone of you for bring a HUGE joy to my life. I really do enjoy you all! (Yes, I'm crying again...)

Awww man. Not you! Congrats on the quick sale though. I've been packing for another 5-day trip to Powell, and I gotta admit, I thought to myself maybe a couple more years and then I'll sell it and do something else for a while. Or maybe not. I don't know. It's just so much work packing and unpacking and gearing up for the trips I do. Wouldn't be so bad if I just mixed in other kinds of adventures in between, but I feel compelled to get all I can out of it while I have it. So basically, I see where you're coming from. Good luck with whatever the new toy/hobby might be. :)

Oh man.......I kept waiting for the punchline to come but never got one! So sudden Wow!

I've enjoyed your knowledge, wit, and sense of humor. I'm sure we'll all see you back on here...........after you buy that "Q" w/ the 350 on the back! Best of luck Jared..........

I too was waiting for the drumroll. Best of luck in all your future endeavors and I'm hoping all is ok healthwise. Don't be a stranger.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! :(

Hopefully you still visit us here. Time to call my shrink again.......

Best of luck and adventure, Jared. Thanks for all the moral support you provided when I was dealing with my express tube issues.

Don't be a stranger here.

Rockie, so sorry to see you go.  I quoted you and put up a ? as I knew something was up and not sure what but this was certainly not what I expected.  Best of luck to you; Do stop in to the forum and give us an update and to say hello

I've contemplated numerous times in recent months about selling big red, or rather my wife has told me numerous times in recent months. It's tough, I love my boat, but it's a heck of a lot of money for us tied up in something I've gone out on probably 6 times! We'll wait and see how this season goes I guess. Worst part for me is I don't think I could ever afford to buy this boat again, and I'd have a tough time buying something "less" ( I quotationed less because they are all great, but, well, you know). Hopefully you still stop by and throw in a jab or two, and keep us posted on all that is and will be!

I am actually friends with Jared's neighbor. He sent this photo to me of Jared at his pool. As we all know Jared was talking about getting a pool and given the sale of the boat and this photo, I think we know what he will be doing this summer.

I call dibs first...............Plus I am closer than most. ;)  Actually I just want the engine and trailer but if you throw the boat in I may be interested.

Sorry to hear that Jared.  I know that must be tough.  I'll keep an eye on "your" boat for you though. I see it every time I get gas at Bobbers.  I'll let you know if they're abusing it.

Dan, They are super nice people. After I took him out today to share with him all the things I learned on this forum, he told me anytime I want to take her out, I'm welcome to. I don't think I could have scripted a more perfect sale. If they abuse her, I'd be shocked. Lol. But, if you do catch them, do let me know! ;)

Damnit Andy!!!! How did you get that photo of me!!!!

Sorry to hear this Jared and hope all goes well for you with whatever's next. Hopefully you won't be a stranger here and you'll see fit to bring us a few more laughs just because you can :)

So here is the scoop, and ironically it involves a ladder...

Mothers Day weekend my FIL fell off a ladder approximation was about 20 ft. He was inside his machine shed with a cement floor. So... As you can imagine he did some damage. Cracked his head open, 9 broken ribs, 5 broken vertebra, a punctured lung, and a partridge in a pear... Sorry. So as you can imagine he's in the ICU for a bit, does some rehab. He gets released and sent home... When at home he gets worse. Go to local hospital, has blood clot in his lung. Back to ICU. This time we make the decision he's not going home for a while, he and the MIL are staying with us. We get a hospital bed, wife and I move down stairs, and they stay with us for a few weeks (he's home now doing a lot better). During this time we realized I'm going to be helping him a lot more often and the boat is going to sit (they are 2-1/2 hours from us). So, I figured what the heck, if it sells it sells... Well what the hell was I thinking? It's a kicks ass well taken care of beautiful Gal that happens to be the top of the line brand in her class... Of course she's going to sell. And she did. So Andy is partially right, we are thinking about a pool for next year, but in the mean time it's helping the in-laws in whatever they need. And at the moment things are getting better, and better everyday.

Jared, sorry to hear of your misfortunes, but you can always get more toys if and when the time comes. I hope all goes well with your FIL and you get back to r&r asap.

Rockie, my father needed me for the last 10 years of his life beginning in 1999.  After not being able to leave him to go on any vacation I also had a pool installed figuring bring the vacation to me.  After many years of hard labor with Kathy being management and me labor many of our friends refer to my backyard as "the resort".  We have had many good times with family and friends in that backyard as I bought a clam steamer that can do a full bushel of clams at once and a fire pit is a must.  Lighting it all up at night is a very easy and inexpensive thing to do as well.

After my father passed away in 2009 is when we got into boating after we rented a pontoon boat and I had probably only been on a boat a handful of times in my life.  Your time will come again but for now enjoy the pool.  I look back with fondness on the years I took care of my father and consider them some of the best years of my life paying back the man that did so much for me

Well if ever there was a good reason to part with it, that is one of them. Good for you for putting others before you, I'm sure they appreciate it more than you'll ever know. When my mom's health worsened and her heart wasn't functioning right, she was pretty helpless. My dad would have to do everything because she didn't have the strength, or will for that matter, to get off the couch and walk to the kitchen. So he stopped riding his motorcycle. I asked him why and he said," Well what would happen if I was in even a minor accident and couldn't help your mom and do everything around the house? It's not worth the risk." He loved riding his Harley, but he loved my mom more. It was hard for him too because he rode to work at the gas station everyday (even though he's 'retired'), and now he wasn't, so all the customers would bug him about why he wasn't riding his bike on such a beautiful day. I guess the moral of the story is sometimes you have to put a "luxury love" aside to take care of what truly matters most in this world. I tear up every time thinking of my dad's love for my mom, and respect him even more. I'm sure your wife and in laws have the same notion in their hearts about your sacrifice. There will always be another boat, maybe this time an RCW!! Hehe

You're a good man Jared. (That doesn't mean I've forgotten about those taylor made fender brackets though)

Way to step up and be there for family when they need you the most. Toys are toys, you can go out and order that boat again tomorrow.
