I upgraded to a 2024 22 SXSB Tritoon (150 hp) from my 2019 22 GSR bi-pontoon (115hp) and finally have 10 hours of run time. Both Bennington's included Ultra Legs (Sea Legs).
Originally I was concerned that moving from the GSR to SX would be an interior down grade and that I wouldn’t like the flat black paint. I have to say that I am thrilled with the new SX and I don’t miss the GSR, other than the Simrad - maybe I will upgrade in the future. I do miss the larger map screen.
This is my first tritoon and I am surprised at the difference. We are on a large +5,000 acre lake in MN and it has a smooth ride. The 150 Yamaha generates 37mph at 6,000 rpm’s with half tank of gas, Ultra Legs (~500 lbs) and one adult. My GSR maxed out at 24 mph. The toon length on the GSR was one foot longer than the SX even though they both were listed as 22’ models.
We had a few warranty items that the central MN dealer fixed quickly and they have been great to work with. Ultra Legs pump failed which was concerning as we were at the sand bar.
Overall a good upgrade.
