Hmmm wonder if there’s a “slide” underneath it. One screw holds it in the guide for horizontal adjustment, other locks it against rotating.

No slide one piece of plastic

I'd have to really see it in person, but based on the pictures and videos the slide needs to move forward an inch or two. The piece that rides on top of the slider should carry the gate until it clears the U-bracket then let it fall into it.

Think I am going to call my dealer to order one of these before boating weather gets here.
