Bilge pump keeps running

Just bought. 2006 25rl and the bilge keeps coming on and off even when out of the water. Is there a manual off switch?

The bilge switch should be on-off-auto, if I'm not mistaken.

When it is needlessly running, see if the float switch is stuck in the up position.

I am suspecting a sticky float switch.

I do not believe that you can turn it full off (without disconnecting power to it)

I have an older boat but I have a Off/On bilge switch on the dash.......

We have an on and off switch but that doesn't turn it off. I think it would be more for manual use?  Yes with Battieries in Off position it still functions and that is probably for safety.


Just not sure why it goes on if there is not water to pump out...

Doesn't really matter now Tom, if it has been running since 4 Aug 2015 I think he needs a new one
