Help please Bimini top keeps flying loose while driving 20mph and it’s dangerous.

I’ve heard of BIMINI CABLE STAYS but, can’t find where to order them, or clear pictures of this exact product.

Can anyone please help point me where to order BIMINI CABLE STAYS (product number or online location with details), and if you also use straps on the Bimini top prior to the boot cover going on?

Hi Andy. Bennington doesn’t sell customer direct. They are dealer direct. For any and all Bennington parts you will need to order through an authorized Bennington dealer, either their parts department or service department. That is how you will be able to discuss and order cable stays.

That said, what do you mean when you say your Bimini top keeps flying loose while driving 20mph? Do you mean the support frame comes loose or the fabric somehow? 20mph should not be an issue unless it’s combined with high winds too.

Finally, do a search in the upper right hand corner, search box symbol. This topic has been discussed before and you should find some insights, including discussion of cable stays. I personally don’t have them, but other members do and have shared about them.

Good luck!

See LaurencetheAdventurer's post #2 in this thread front bimini flew off

Alternatively, some of us have drilled holes through the base brackets and added hitch pins to prevent the Bimini arms from detaching from the brackets. Search for "Bimini pins."

Thank you all! I mean the frames come loose which then rips the fabric at “snap” attach points.

My reason for asking for pictures or exact part numbers is, I am hitting a dead end on dealers being able to find/order this exact part.

I am looking hard for exact information to send to the dealer to order, or after market parts to order.

In my searches through previous posts I see the topic but, unless I have missed it, I have failed to see an “exact part number to request ordered” or an exact after market solution.

If anyone can please help with that in this community, I would greatly appreciate it and it would make the ride so much safer with children on the pontoon.

Thank you all

If the frame is coming loose, maybe it is still covered under warranty?

You can contact Bennington, 888 906 2628. Have your Hull ID when you call .

Thank you! I’ll call directly to see if I can track this down.

My boat prior to the pontoon had this cable built in and I could tighten straps to the Bimini top which made it safe and secure to eliminate the top from coming loose and safety hazard like it is on the pontoon.

If I can find and order the cables, I will be sure to post so others see the fix
