I have a 2012 2575 QCW from day one the bimini has never Fully zipped at the Junction where the front Bimini meets the rear Bimini. If I adjust the Bimini legs in such a way that the Bimini actually fully zips at the Junction the Bimini has a Funky shape, Its actually is not a smooth flowing Bimini but up's and downs and the front Bimin sits lower at the junction and then raises up. So I have been living with the Bimin not fully zipping. Photo #1
Not that big of a deal But Last year the Bimini started to rip at the zipper junction. I told the dealer about the rip last year along with Pictures and I still haven't received any advice or fix for my problem Only that they submitted the photos of the damage and that they would get on it! That was 7-8 months ago. Well now the rip is starting to get worse and our boating season is fully under way.
So I decided to take things into my own hands and took down the Bimini and brought it to My upholstery guy. This is what we came up with to support the junction where the front meets the rear bimini.
So moving on to the Next Issue Again where the 2 Biminis join there is a Forward facing flap that covers the Zipper's The problem is this flap is facing INTO the wind and the only thing that holds down the flap is a small piece of Velcro in the center. If your Parked and you have a stiff Breeze coming at you the flap will fold forward and the Bimini looks un tighty. Our solution was to sew a piece of Velcro all along the flap to keep the wind from getting between the 2 biminis
It cost me $200 to get all these Mods to the Bimini done and the rip repaired. Bonus was Zero down time. Dropped it off on Monday and Picked it up the Next day
Bennington if your paying attention These mod's would make great additions to new Biminis our other Bennington 2575RLIO has the same issues with its Bimini.
