Most of the lifts at our docks use the bunks that run parallel to the tubes and lift the boat by the deck. It would certainly seem that 4 12" lift points under each tube would be more than adequate. I don't believe my lift's frame is long enough (fore to aft) to accommodate a setup like that. If I want to lift the tubes themselves, I would need 3 wider fore/aft bunks.
I feel confident my existing setup will work, based on what the folks at SAD tell me, and the fact that a neighbor has been doing the same with the same model boat.
