Bow Mount Ladder

Looks like it's bolted to a sheet of aluminum, then welded to the cross members.  Take note for those thinking about a DIY on this.

So no duct tape?
 
You can do anything with enough duct tape.  And some coat hangers (the old metal/wire kind).
 
So how would this work with the waveshield?  Would the waveshield have to be removed in this section when the ladder is in the closed position?  I wouldn't think there was enoug depth to allow for this ladder to slide between the deck and the waveshield.  I sure wouldn't want setting below the waveshield
