Break in period ???

How long is the break in period for a 150hp new Yamaha outboard engine? Can we floor it for a few minutes in the beginning ? Thanks

The break in procedure is in the owners manual. I think it is no more then 3/4 throttle for the 1st 10 hours and then full throttle for only a few minutes up to 20 hours. I followed the break in procedure for the most part. I think if you are easy on it for the 1st few hours and then short burst of full throttle for the next few hours, you are good to go. These Yamaha fourstrokes are built pretty tight and need to loosen up a little before being really hammered on. What prop did you get? Mine is a reliance stainless 14 1/2 by 15 and it is perfect

Not sure,, the dealer is going to fit the prop for me,,, maybe I'll recommend this one
