Cable Steering Play/Slop

Looks like I'm a monkey's uncle... :)

Nope you were right Michiman.  Everyone at the marina I show this to are taken back by how loose it is. I don't believe my dealer or Bennington at all that this is normal. My dealer is embarrassed they didn't inform me I needed hydraulic steering and Bennington does not want to start a social media war and are covering for the dealer, which I understand. I for sure would have upgraded to the Seastar if I knew it was necessary. Regardless I'm fixing this once I decide on which brand. I'm looking at Uflex Protech and Seastar. Uflex seems to be better made from my research thus far but not sold on it yet.

My regular seastar hydraulic kept leaking under the helm. I guess they had an issue with the fittings. My original lines leaked, the selling dealer replaced them, those leaked. The boat went back to bennington for other repairs and to get these lines replaced, those leaked as well. I now have the power assist and my 4th set of lines and no more leaks. I guess the pressure to turn the 200 while under power was putting too much load on the lines without the power assist or something. Odd

I actually checked mine this weekend and I have about an inch slop if that. It does not seem as bad as what you have but may check into it anyway just to be on the safe side.
