Just curious, never has a slip for more than a week with my bow rider (converteted to a bass boat). How do you keep your trolling motor battery charged throughout the summer? When your boat is in a slip for extended periods, what do you do? Do you pull it every so often or use a solar charger or what?

Fortunately I have AC at my dock.  I've got a 2 bank charger onboard (helm) for my 24v system with a flush mount plug in knee area.   This works great for storage as well.  I don't have anything for my starting battery though.  I wish I did.  I need to hook a separate charger for my starting battery (tender).

Solar would work, but you want to make sure the system is big enough and have enough sun.  I've got on on my lift for my 12v lift motor battery.  Works just OK, but I'm in MN facing north

Another option are devices like: http://www.basspro.com/Pro-Charging-Systems-Charge-On-The-Run-Onboard-Battery-Chargers/product/96526/

 or http://www.yandina.com/c100InfoR3.htm

These types of devices (never used them) charge your trolling motor battery with your outboard.  They have limitations though.  You need to have a pretty high output alternator on your outboard (most bigger 4 strokes OK...older two strokes probably not) and you need to use your boat long enough (cruising, watersports, etc,)...to actually charge your battery.  Seems like you would have to use it more for these activities than trolling to stay on top of it.

May be easier to just take battery with you if you don't have an easy way to charge it in slip or don't run motor for long periods of time to charge with outboard.
