Cleaning and using a hose?

We have a fishing model and a full vinyl floor (has fishing console). Obviously keeping the boat clean is one of my top priorities.

Questions: (please link to previous threads if available, I couldn't find anything or didn't use the correct search words):

Can you actually spray anything down with a water hose right in the boat (like you do on fiberglass ocean/fishing boats due to saltwater)? Or do you use buckets of rinse water and keep cleaning much more controlled? If so, do you avoid certain areas like the helm or seats, etc?

If using a hose, what about the areas like under the helm and where the privacy curtain is where there is no barrier on the floor?

How do you routinely clean the top of the bimini if docked at a marina? Do you use a ladder to spray it off? Do you use something to swab with an extendable pole? Or do you unzip and clean both sides at ground level?

Thank you!

Jack,

I SO appreciate your fast replies and pictures/links!

Not a problem ,You're welcome .

We have had that vac for 2 years and it works very well.

I was excited when I saw the vac, then shocked to see 100 for it now. I will wait for a promotion. Thanks for the information though Jack!

Amazon has  2 or 3 promotions going on Right Now ,which you can stack . I paid $61.00 .

If you are interested .PM me, and I will send you the links to get it for " about " that price .

Side note ,used it today ,Did not loose suction and the battery  lasted long enough that I did not have to bring it home after the first use

Used the Dewalt this weekend.  We have no mooring cover right now and had to clean the cedar needles out of the boat.  It did clog a couple of times.  Real easy to clean out.  Used it for 1/2 hr and battery was still strong.

Myself ,I would keep the hose away from the helm.

The Bimini I applied the 303 as soon as the weather permitted .Rain kept it clean all last year .

On the furniture,I use the 303 cleaner when necessary .

Then apply the aerospace protectant

Hey Jack, It seems from your posts that you are very diligent about protecting and cleaning your boat. If you don't mind maybe you could point me in the right direction of what products you use for certain applications. I have read not to use Simple Green on the interior. I am currently using Boat Bling Hot Sauce for the exterior and love it. We do a complete wipe down after every trip. I would also like to preserve the interior for years to come. Here are my questions. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Hello Jack! So, after two seasons is it still a good purchase?

I would buy again in a second .

The past 2 years Amazon has had 20% off Dewalt in June for Fathers Day .

Thanks for the recommendation and discount tip! It's currently going for $109.99 so I'll take 20% off in order to soften the blow. Being that it will be kept at a marina all summer, without something like this I'll have no way to vacuum it out as needed.

I hope they have the Dewalt discount again ,I need a new drill .

Mine was $139.99 minus the 20% when I purchased
