Cracking on motor mount, what to do???

Just bought this 2015 Bennington Tri toon. It's a 22sfx. Has the yamaha 150 ho on it. While cleaning it up, I noticed a few hairline cracks on the welds on the motor mount. That's a little concerning to me. What shall I do??? obviously needs to be rewelded, but how do I find someone that can do it properly??
 
I would speak to a Bennington dealer . Bennington's now have a lifetime structural warranty , but I dont recall what year it started .
If 2015 is covered you would have to transfer the warranty first at a Bennington dealer .
You can also call Bennington with questions.

If its not covered under warranty ,the dealer should be able to help with finding a welder .
Also,there is no charge to transfer a Bennington Warranty
 
I just googled it. Because my boat has the 150 on it, the boat only had a 3 year warranty. Which don't make sense to me, the boat is rated up to a 200 hp. I will call a dealership tomorrow and check further into it.
 
That doesn’t make sense to me, but I could be wrong. Maybe the motor had a 3 year warranty, but the pontoon is usually much longer. I assume the motor mount is part of the pontoon and not the motor.
 
We have a 2015 as well. You can confirm by calling Bennington or with a local dealer as well but ours had a 7 year bumper to bumper (motor warranty was separate through Yamaha). It also has a structural warranty (frame, toons, seat bases, decking, etc.) as lifetime to us as original owners but I believe that expired after 10 years to subsequent owners. Depending on date originally sold, you have a slight chance of still being within that window. Unlikely but worth asking.

Worst case, a competent aluminum welder should be able to fix you up again but I would certainly get it repaired ASAP before it gets worse, now that it is compromised.

The next question may be why it happened in the first place. These boats are built very well and I wonder if it was stressed beyond it's designed use and limits (motor hit something, trailered incorrectly, lifted wrong, etc.).
 
i just called Bennington. They said as 2nd owner the warranty ran out 2023. A second owner warranty is only good for 7 years from original date of purchase. So 2022 it was over. I am on my own. I found a guy that says he does them all the time , so we are going to him. He said $300 would cover it AND he is going to put Gussets in the corners. The cracks are very small, hairline cracks. I think the weight of that Yamaha 150 is just stress on that whole structure. That is a HEAVY motor.

Shouldn’t be the motor. That transom support is engineered to hold more weight than that 150, and it’s not a typically item on Bennington's at all. As speculated above, something had to have provided somewhat decent additional distress to cause any sort of fracturing there. Flip side, someone taking care of it, at that price, is fantastic. Nice to have a solution at hand.
