Finally getting ready for the install. It's been powder coated a gloss black with a clear coat uv protectant. I haven't seen it but Tuesday morning it'll be done. I'll post some pics with the paddle boards secured once I figure it out.
Not yet. The way it's designed, the actual 'platform' cantilevers forward from the curved vertical post about a foot and a half and the rear vertical post about two and a half feet (it's 6' front to back and 8'-6 side to side) so the paddleboard only has about 3' cantilevered off the platform in the front and about a foot in the back. It could catch the wind I suppose but it seems pretty aerodynamic with the surface area that is exposed. I hope it doesn't snap, lol!
Thank you everyone for the compliments - this was fun to do and as soon as the weather arrives which should be very soon - I think it's going to be a good time.
Man do people stare at my rack, lol. I have to tell them - 'Hey, my eyes are down here, not up there.' It has been as functional as it has been aesthetic. Our chartering biz is starting to take shape on a Bennington - how cool is that!
