I’d like to add a depth sounder/fishfinder to my (new to me) 2014 20S. The GPS function on many units would be a nice-to-have but is not essential.

Would welcome any thoughts/advice on choice of unit, and particularly on the details of mounting the transducer.

Does your port pontoon have a mounting bracket at the bottom of it?

Show a picture of your dash. You may have room to flush mount one to the right of your steering wheel depending on what is behind there. If not, you could use a RAM mount to mount it in the best location for you

Another member mounted his like this https://club.benningtonmarine.com/media/after-helix5-di-gps-sonar-1-png.6526/

and this(This is the unit I flush mounted on my 2025 L23):

Thanks very much for this.
There is indeed a mounting bracket on the port-side pontoon, so that seems clearly to point to the mounting solution. I presume the cable will find its way up under the dash with the various other connectIons.
The unit I’m looking at is a very simple small Garmin, so will not have to mount it flush in the dash; will go with a RAM mount, I expect.
Thanks again.

A fish tape will help running the transducer cable .

Thanks for your help, that looks like the solution for me.
Super simple to put together. I used stainless steel hardware to mount the bracket to the fish finder. I also mounted a second rail mount so I can remove my fish finder and put the mount down low so my cover fits
