Ok that is awesome, and creative! Very curious how that works/holds up - please update this summer. My ShoreMaster lift looks a lot like yours, and our lake is very rough as well. I haven't found my solution online yet either.View attachment 36596View attachment 36597
These are the lift guides I made. Our lake is VERY rough, and my goal was to make something that allows one person to bring the boat in and raise the lift without damaging anything. Ignore my neighbors boat on the right. The top pic shows the lift in the lowered position. The bottom pic shows the lift in the raised position. I couldn't find anything online, so I made these. I'll make them out of metal if these work out.
They hold the boat in position (from side to side) while the lift comes up under the boat (its a floating lift attached to the dock). The diameter of the mower wheels (13") are 1 inch less than the gap between the pontoons (14"), so they guide and hold the boat in place well. They spin as the pontoons run along side them. I put a bunk-style guide between the wheels to guide the boat in a straight line.
So far, so good... The boat "grabs" these guides like a Disney boat ride and guides it in nicely, but we'll see how it does in rough water this summer.
