if the depth finder shows speed then it GPS.

My 2017 22 SSRCX has a factory installed large dash GPS speedometer equal to size of large tachometer. I am lucky that someone ordered it when boat new. The old style speedometer with a waterwheel sensor are a joke in todays modern technology era. Even if it works, accuracy will be affected by river current. Also lucked out with electrically assisted Seastar hydraulic steering on a Yamaha F150 being ordered. Along with SPS, of course. And Garmin mounted in dash. Life is good!
