I put a sizeable hole in the mooring cover of my 2015 20SLX (don't ask). An upholstery shop says they can fix it but I'm wondering if it's even worth fixing an 11-year-old cover. It still looks good and repels water, but after 11 summers of all day sunshine I'm thinking the fabric might be at the end of it's use by date. Any thoughts?

Several members recently have mentioned quotes for new covers . Ive seen from 3k to the one I was quoted for a Sunbrella which was 7k . I would weigh how much for the repair vs new cover cost .
The only downside of waiting is those cover prices aren't coming down, unless you find a canvas shop that needs work .
Also you can do a search in the upper right corner for covers and take look at other members quotes .

IMO, if it still works and looks good, I would fix. I have had a few of the new covers, they are expensive and I didn’t have good luck. If no dry rot, why not get a few more summers of it. Plus, if you change your mind and decide to upgrade to a new “can’t pass-up pontoon deal,” you might get a new cover with it.
Very good point Pbakk, My quote on a new OEM cover is 2k, and I would guess the repair could be done for 200 or so. But your post reminded me that a new cover would have close to zero impact on trade-in value. Maybe a repair is the way to go.
