Location
Indian River ,Michigan
First trip out this year , water levels are down as expected for the top of Michigan races 2nd weekend of August. But it was way to windy ,so we went down the Indian River to Burt Lake, went into the white caps on Burt for few minutes ,turned back into the Indian River took that back to Mullett got a bit further into Mullett, but still too windy . Spent about 3 1/2 hours cruising the river . Wind or not it was good to get out .

I don't need to rehash what happened up here. We should be able to get out the rest of the week. We still won't do Saturdays and holidays due to rental boaters. Saw a real pip today, he decided he would take a short cut to Mullett and bypassed the channel markers . We didn't stick around to view the results.
I really want to try out the Lilly Pad ladder and check out my hull jacket after sitting in the slip unmoved for 5 weeks.

Glad you got out. First of many I hope

Good news, Jack. My sons were here for the weekend and we got out twice. It's so nice to just sit back and let them do all the work while I maintain my status as "Captain - Retired."

PS: What's a hull jacket?

Hull Jacket is also from S-G Marine the company Bennington now uses in place of Shark Hide .Bennington use's their Metal Jacket . I was told the Hull Jacket should last at least 10 years when kept in a slip all season

Saw this photo on our Saginaw Bay site. Uggghhhh

That is crazy how it is becoming an annual issue dealing with smoke.

Down here we get dust that crosses the Atlantic from Africa.

Canada doesn't thin their forests like the USA does . Also in Michigan you can collect dead and down trees on state land. That is how we fired up the Sap Cooker . I sure miss that.
Andy the dust you get is that dirt, soot or something else?
