Front gate difficult to open and close

My front gate is very difficult to lift to open and I have to push it down to close. Is there a specific type of lubricant or grease to use to help it move easier? Appreciate any suggestions or products that worked well for others.

Hopefully you are lifting right next to the hinge, or you’re putting a bind in it. That was so hard to get my wife to realize. 3 n 1 oil will be fine for it. If you overdo it, you’ll have a little mess to try to clean up.

Thanks for tip. I feel like we grab from middle of the gate I’ll try closer to the hinge.

....And spray some silicone lubricant on the length of the hinge.

I like Boeshield for lubing boat hinges.
