Fuel fill slow and burps out of funnel?

Try a super siphon from Amazon . I have direct fill now but previously had side fill . Going back to 2013, Ive never had a filling issue.

Well, first mention I've found...dealership item? Actually, when I look in I don't see a "flapper valve"...

If you still have the problem at the gas station pump, this insert unfortunately probably isn’t your answer.

Gas fill problems on side fill boats comes up lot on this forum. Hard to know if one members problem is the same as another do to brevity appropriate for a forum but not for technical description. I had fill problems with my side fill boat. Do not know if the problem that I had was the same as others. If the symptoms that I experienced were the same as others then I can contribute with more insight. The problem that I experienced was that it was not easy to fill the boat tank with the common gas pump nozzle. When it acted up the fill nozzle would click off immediately as if the tank was full. I had to twist and position the nozzle in the fill hole just so and fill real slow. When it did click off gas would spit out of the hole. If this is what others are experiencing I can recommend a course of action.

Thanks DVW, that sounds like the same problem I'm having, even with the 5 gallon gas can, I can only trickle the gas in. I'm attaching some photos, looks like if there was a "flapper" in the fuel fill, it's been removed. All visible lines look fine to me. I do have a new longer/flexible nozzle on the way for my gas can, thinking that if I can slide it into the fill further it might help? We'll see. Otherwise I can only think there's a clogged or crimped vent hose or canister? I'm considering removing the plate that covers the gas tank but would like to know if the tank is supported or if the plate is what holds the tank? Thanks in advance for any help offered.

If indeed your problem is really the same as I described above then I may be able to help you troubleshoot. Your photo looking into your side filler hole looks the same as the filler that I removed when my boat was new. No flapper??? I think that your problem is blockage downstream from that elliptical shape pilot pressure pickup. Pilot flow should either flow freely to the top of the tank (when the tank is empty) or it should flow to the shut off hole on the gas pump nozzle. The most probable blockage is downstream from that pilot pressure pickup. It is assessable from the back side. The smallest hose is connected to this pressure pickup. This small pressure pickup fitting contains a small venturi that looks like it can plug easily. The fitting is retained with a small screw that comes in from the side. If there is no blockage you should be able to look thru the fitting when you hold it up to the light. The other potential blockage location is fuel trapped in a low spot in the hose that runs to the top of the tank. Blowing out the hose might be a temporary solution. Another crazy idea would be to get a boatload of people to stand on the starboard side to drain the trap. Shortening the hose might be a better solution.
