Gauges quit working

Hello all,

I have a 2014 Bennington 20SLX. 115 Yamaha.
No issues with the boat until summer '23 when the gauges would occasionally stop working. Now the gauges only work for the first 5-10 minutes of operation. Sitting still on the trailer I turn the key on and all works including hour meter. After several minutes all shut off. Horn, stereo, accessory all continue work. This is only the gauges and hour meter (built into tach).
This doesn't seem like a ground issue to me. Seems like a relay somewhere is getting hot? But no clue where to even begin.
Any ideas?

On my 2021 SX with 115 Yamaha all the gauges have common power wires and a common ground. The fused power comes from the engine harness and the wires are purple in color. If there is a relay it would be under the engine hood. The power fuse is at the end of the engine harness near the key switch. It is both inaccessible and somewhat exposed. The ground wires are all black. All of these wires have inline connections that make trouble shooting difficult and inappropriate for this level of complexity.

Have you noticed if the gages quit working in direct sunlight verses shade? It does sound like something is heating up from either resistance (bad connection) or external (heat from the sun). Does the hour meter continue to capture time even when the gage goes out? Easy to prove if you can jot down the hours when the gage goes out and continue to run. Do the gages begin to work again if you turn off the engine, wait a minute then restart, do they come back on or do you have to wait some period of time before they start to work again.

No they all quit working after about 10 minutes. Boat under cover. Doesn't matter if engine is running or not. Sun or shade. Then won't work for hours. It's not accumulating time when they're off. Been stuck on the same amount basically all summer. Only went up a couple tenths due to it working for 10 minutes max when cold. I've put 10.5 hrs on the boat (kept track each outing) but meter only up 1.0 this year. Thinking the same. Poor connection causing heat or a failing resistor. Issue is diag is hard as the bottom panels under the boat are a pain to remove to access the harness. Just wonder if there's any relays in that section or they are all located at engine/helm area.

I'll check at both spots thank you. And your right...there is NO room to work behind that dash. Super tight and packed with wiring.

On my 2012 2275R there is a relay under the dash that is connected to the master switch. I replaced mine serveral years ago.
