Hi I'm new here. We we are in our second season of a Bennington in northern Wisconsin and this summer we went under a bridge with the bimini up. The top slammed down and snapped both of the side connectors at the hinge. I wasn't sure if an aluminum weld would have been strong enough so we just replaced the aluminum rail with a new one.
Now the power arm (pwr-arm, pwr arm) actuator won't raise or lower the bimini. The motors on both sides will run but it seems as if there are gears that aren't engaging. Has anyone pulled one of these apart to know how the gear mechanism works inside? Wondering if we're going to need to leave it manual, if I can repair it, or else shell out for two new pwr-arms.
Thanks!
