Have a 2018 G that's loaded out to an R. The Helms are are little.different, but whatever. Merc 250 Verado. Lately, More and more I'm having to recycle the master power switch on the helm below the key to get any of my accessory switches on the helm to turn on. It's starting to even go out while underway. Let it rest and keep recycling the switches and eventually it comes back on. Switch is green. Helm ACC switches light up, but no power makes it to anything wired from the helm, bilge, stereo, NAV, etc. Horn seems to be the only thing that works. Anyone see this before?

With it being intermittent, maybe a loose wire/ground, or a wire that has been damaged over time? Have you had a chance to try to trace the wires to see what’s going on inside the helm with it? Electrical isn’t my area, but it sure sounds like something like that since it is intermittent.

I've tried making sure the connections are tight on the ACC switches up on the helm.

The weird thing is that the green light on the master switch is on and so are the lights on the ACC switches. That alone tells me power is getting there. One switch controls the stereo and GPS. If that were my only problem, I'd think bad switch. However, bilge, nav lights all have their own switches.

Are you the original owner ? It could be under warranty .

Sort of. I bought the lake house from my parents and the boat was gifted to me. I've always maintained the boat through a Merc dealer on our Lake in Tennessee. Trouble is the dealer in Cincinnati we bought it from is out of business. The new dealer said Bennington will not give out parts under warranty without having the boat present. They're a 4 hour tow away. Accessory switches are cheap. I'm sure I can find the master switch somewhere online. I just don't think it's a part issue.

We broke the handle on the aft ladder last year. We brought the broken part to the dealer. That's when they said 1. Boat has to be there. 2. Second time it has broke and they won't fix it again. Bought and Installed a Lilypad ladder this spring. Best decision ever!

I'm leaning towards a Harris or Barletta for the next boat. This our 9th season on the Benny. I just can't swallow the prices today. Ours was $80K in 2018. Same boat is like $140 now.

If you think it's a switch, try greatlakesskipper.com. They have some Bennington OEM parts.
