Help picking flooring

We have the designer vinyl and it has never gotten any hotter than the carpet on our previous toon. If you plan to fish the flooring choices that have a weave like texture are problematic if you use any fish bates like crappie bate. It can be hard to clean if it gets ground into the weave. This would be true of some types of food as well. Having said this we love the designer vinyl for its slip resistance and the ability to simply sweep or hose it off.
 
We have the designer vinyl too and love it. I think it isn't quite as hot as most of the other choices but never had them side by side in the right conditions to compare. A few things we learned about flooring choices:

I think all of them get hot in the right conditions. Even ours, in Midwest full sun in the summer, can be too hot to stand on with bare feet.

We also have snap-in platinum herringbone carpet which we also love. It too can get warm but that is our escape from the hot vinyl in the conditions where the vinyl is too hot for the feet. Again, in the Midwest, but for us I'm sure glad we did the carpet too as we are a no shoes boat and the overly hot condition happens often enough to justify the carpet cost. The carpet can get warm too but noticeably cooler than the vinyl.

If you aren't a no shoes boat, having just vinyl could likely be just fine as it is easy to hose off.

Even the seagrass looks woven to the eye but try to unweave the edge of a sample and I'll bet you can't. We tried before buying our boat (designer vinyl hadn't come out yet) and couldn't. It is a molded material like our vinyl, just a coarser texture. Not sure about the 'woven' teak but your dealer should have a sample to test if you need to.

Lots of choices so tough decisions I know (been there) but that's been our experience. Hope that helps.
 
One more note on the designer vinyl... For some very odd reason, the Build a Boat doesn't show the designer vinyl as an option on the R or Q series. That is a major oversight in my opinion. We requested it on our R-series, Bennington built it (I think one of the first boats with it), we couldn't be happier with it, it looks great with our color schemes (pics in my gallery), and I'm sure it would look good with several other color schemes too. So if you like a given flooring option, just because it doesn't show as available on the model you may be looking at, doesn't mean they won't do it.

We like the teak looks too - just wanted to go as light as possible to minimize the 'heat' issue as much as we could and still get something that went with our color scheme. Not trying to hijack the thread initially inquiring about teak but just some additional ideas/info on flooring in general for those looking for options...
 
Looks like I'm going to go with the woven teak. Still able to get from factory.

How many of you guys have the upgraded rub rail? Is it needed?
 
I have the heavy duty rub rail. Wouldn't order a new boat without it. The stainless one looks nice but in my opinion it is too nice and it would drive me nuts if it was scuffed etc.
 
Get the HD rub rail.
 
Went with the SS. The HD looks too beat up after a while not to mention if it gets a tear in it. You will not notice the scratches as much as you think.
