Help with lost ignition key…please!

My 12-old Bennington, a 20+ footer is stranded, and so am I, because I’ve lost the ignition key. I unscrewed the ignition fixture, hoping to find a serial number. No luck…could not find any ID info at all. Where else should I be looking? Thanks, John.

Yamaha should have a 3-digit key code on the barrel of the ignition.

Not sure what motor you have but you can google for your particular OEM.

Also call your dealer he may have a record of it and ask him how fast he can get a replacement

it may be faster and easier to buy a new ignition switch that will come with a set of keys.

We’re lucky enough that our dealer/marina keeps a set of keys on file to service the boat and proved as loaners to people who forget their keys at home.
