Horizontal Dock Fenders for Aluminum Dock

Hi everyone,
We just purchased a used 2022 LSR in pristine condition. Along with having bumpers, we are looking into adding horizontal and corner fenders on our JB Lund aluminum dock. Our posts are set inside the frame so I don't think we need vertical fenders (unless y'all tell me otherwise!).

I could attach a piece of wood on the inside and screw the fender in from the outside into the wood. But hoping to find something we can attach to the aluminum.

My issue with horizontal bumpers is that the point where the boat rub rail contacts the dock varies with water level and weight in the boat.

I installed vertical bumpers, one each about 2 feet in from the bow and stern and one amidship. Total of three.

My dock is L shaped so I also installed two where the bow contacts the short arm of the L. I spaced them 18" either side of the centerline.

For the same reasons as Gary, I have verticals that mount on our dock. However, if you want horizontal and corner, it cannot hurt. I would just make sure you have verticals which will protect it more often, in more conditions and water levels.

That said, most products out there bolt on. Based on your dock picture, you should just be able to use a cobalt drill bit to mark placement. Drill mount holes through the aluminum dock frame. Bold on the bumpers and accessories you see fit.

As mentioned above, we have both horizontal and vertical due to the fluctuation of the water level. Behind the vertical posts are 2x6" to provide stability. Couple pics of old and new when the water levels dropped drastically from 1 year to the next. So we had to lower the dock on its "L" brackets to accommodate the change.

When we sold the Benny and went with the Yamaha, I had to add 2 2x6's vertical posts with pads to line up with the higher rub rail of the Yamaha vs the rub rail on the Bennington.
