I do know about the Wet Sounds system and your belief is wrong. The sub, regardless of how it is ordered is ALWAYS the HT AS-10 sub. The "speaker in the door" is nothing but a port to allow air movement. This comes from Tim, THE GUY, at Wet Sounds. They had to add the port because when they first installed the system into the helm and had it booming, it blew the door open. His exact words. There would be no way to install a sub into the helm door, unless you ran a free air sub, which would not sound nearly as good as the self powered unit you received. Also from Tim. I had asked about a couple different setups, things that would cause me to buy far more Wet Sounds gear, and Tim told me to stick with the AS-10. The guy cares about system quality, not just selling stuff. Good guy.
