I recently purchased a 1999 2275 LX and since the boat was purchased out of state, the SCDNR is requiring a pencil tracing or photo of the Hull ID for registration. I have searched high and low for it and can't find it. I have read several places that it is in the aft area of the deck, starboard by the ladder. I have looked on the railing, the floor, the pontoons and everywhere else that I know to look. Am I looking for a metal or plastic tag or an etching? If someone could post a photo of what I should be looking for, that would be great. None of my internet searched have been helpful so far. TIA
I dont have a pic. Its a metal tag riveted on the starboard side ,all of mine have been near the ladder.
Also you can contact Bennington at 888 906 2628, they may be able to help .

My old 2011 was in the motor well on the starboard side. Small metal plate riveted on.
Should be 12 characters. 1 through 3 are Manufactures numbers. 4-8 serial number. 9-10 Month and year of build. 11-12 are model year
For example, mine was ETW73972E111
If memory serves me correct, boat was built in E1 (which is May (5th letter of alphabet) 1st) as a 2011 model year. I picked the boat up in June 2011.

Thanks for the photo. I have searched high and low and mine is not in an obvious place. I am planning to look again when I get home. I have the title with VIN (HIN) but since the DNR wants a photo, I must locate it.
I read somewhere else that it might be in a second location near the helm. I haven't pulled the cover to look there yet but will this weekend.
well, just as follow up from a few months back, I spoke with SCDNR and after they verified that the boat and motor had been registered in SC prior to being registered in Georgia, they were able to verify that the VIN matched from the original purchase as a pair. They then told me that they would go ahead and issue the new titles and registration but I had to go to an engraving shop to get a new Hull ID tag for the boat. I went to a trophy shop and for $25 they made me a Hull ID tag. The shop said they have done this a few times over the years.
I riveted it on the area where it was supposed to be before and sent a photo to SCDNR and they issued everything. I am GTG now.
