Incredibly upset @ local marina

Gotta vent a bit and you guys can understand my frustration.  I spoke with a local marina about cleaning, Polishing,  and applying sharkhide.  I didn't have the available time myself to polish so I wanted to outsource.

After a week of the marina having my boat and I paid for the services I was able to go see my boat.  They didn't polish anything.  Just cleaned the pontoons and applied sharkhide!

I am kind of at a loss of words. Quite upset and now out the money.  He (guy at the marina) acts as if he did nothing wrong.

As some of you know,  if you only use the  sharkhide cleaner it will alter the finish of the pontoons which is why polishing is optional (an option I requested from the get go because I knew this and wanted a polished finish).

Marina knows I am upset and very disappointed but unwilling to right the wrong.

Are they gong to refund any money?!? They didn't do the agreed upon service. Was this the marina/dealer you purchased your boat from?!? I'd be pissed too!

At the moment no refund or other form of reconciliation. It was not the dealer I purchased the boat from. My dealer isn't a marina and they are further away and was hoping a marina (only 3-5 minutes from home) would be able to handle the job. I would post a picture but the file size is too large.

Now, basically I have to deal with it or reinvest money to buy the materials and just do it myself.  Thinking it will have to wait now.

And what did you pay for that?

I would give them a scathing review on Angies list........get's their attention

I would also go to the social media sites, making sure you list their whole business name, so it will get their attention. When they see very negative reviews going out about the shabby way they treat customers, they'll straighten things out with you or risk loosing lots of business. I've done that, and I got calls from about 5 people from the car dealership within about 1 hour; the service manager, general manager, service tech, the shop manager, and the owner. I actually got two calls from the owner of the dealership, making sure the others were handling it the way I liked. They made things right, really fast!

This dealership has an internet specialist that monitors the internet for any and all reviews/comments about their business.

BTW... I used Facebook.

I'm gonna throttle this one down a bit here, folks. While I'm sure Jacc appreciates your suggestions, we have to remember why Bennington provides us this club site.

I know that some of BM's dealers are also members here, so let's be careful how we present ourselves.

Happy Boating!

I will be giving that marina a review,  but I am still pretty p-o'd, probably best I wait. For the service that was actually competed,  $430. Which in my opinion is wasted money and still took a week.

Hope you find resolve.
