I plugged in my iPod to the USB port and my iPod said connected, but nothing happened. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Try turning stereo power off and on while hooked up to USB.

Not sure if this is the cause, found this in KMC10 manual, but I tried my iPhone via helm last week and noticed it didn’t work on KMC10..... I know you said you have basic KMC but I’d think they act the same.
I don’t know if the helm port is acting like a hub??

You cannot play back items via a USB hub.- This unit cannot recognize USB devices via a USB hub.

I was surprised and disappointed by this last year when I tried plugging my iPhone into my KMC10 USB hub. I know you can Bluetooth connect, which we do for streaming Pandora on the boat, but a USB connection would not drain the battery the same. Surprised you cannot plug in and play in this manner, and seems way out of touch with how a radio USB hub should work. In the end, are they just there to charge devices?

I was able to plug and play all last year with my USB. When I plugged in first time out this year the message was did not recognize device. I thought it was because I got i new iPhone but eventually got it to work by turning on power with phone hooked to USB. It then would recognize the phone and all was good.

Usually you just have to plug it in and scroll through the source menu. I typically plug my IPOD in first then turn on the stereo. The Kicker stereo always "sees" it when it boots up.

Ok, I’ll have to give that a try. I’ll plug in then turn on stereo.

I can’t remember if mine showed up or not - seems to me it did. I have to say we never use it a lot. My radio quit on me near the end of the 2016 season. I finally got around to checking with my dealer near the end of 2017 season and they sent me a new replacement radio (warranty, but too late to install last year). I’ll have to check if it connects when I install it later this month.

The above information is good to hear. Sounds like others can run their iPhone’s through their KMC10’s. I will try some of the suggestions above and see if I can get a wired connection. If not, Bluetooth works for it. However, if I can stream the music more efficiently from a batter perspective, then more time with great tunes on the water. :)

Our USB was fantastic on a Sony until I plugged in my IPhone 7! That d@m thing won’t put out anything! Had to buy some BS adapter but haven’t had time to try it out.
