Sorry to rant, but I'm trying to figure out if I have just found a really long bad luck streak or is getting anything done to your boat always going to be a PITA?

From ordering our new boat and it not having all the seats with it, a chipped steering wheel, white paint over-spray all over the helm and scratches to our dealership rigging it with the engine in the wrong spot and not wanting to do the minor warranty work like the fact the horn flat out doesn't work or the throttle cable is loose and doesn't hold an rpm.  I've fixed all of the above and let me tell you it was like WW-3 getting all of this resolved.

Then, my marina hit the bimini tops on an overhead cross-beam when they were putting the boat away and I needed to get all new panels and bimini tops because everything was bent.  This was super fun and only took 6 weeks - and MY insurance had to pay for it due to a disclaimer I apparently signed when I decided to keep my boat with them.  The marina at least paid my deductible and gave me $600 in fuel credits.  Their mechanics working there, however, dropped my motor one notch because it was rigged wrong and they lifted it with a strap instead of at the lifting point and cracked the bottom cowling.  They paid to have it fixed, but does anyone think before they do things anymore?  Then, they installed my power pole and the hydraulic line popped out of the motor spilling hydraulic fluid all over the rear teak deck - not to mention the hardship it put us in when the pole was stuck down and we're on a sand bar as the sun is setting.

Well, all of that is resolved now and again - the fun just hasn't stopped!

Now, my last mod is to enclose it so we can camp.  I just got the call that the canvas guy is half done (the enclosure panels are on with no windows), but will finish over the next 4-5 weeks.  He also needs half the money today - $1500.

Just when I feel like asking myself "what's next," I get a little reluctant because I can only imagine.

The boat absolutely rocks, but it's been a nightmare getting it to here.  Does anyone else have these problems with the boat contractors you hire or has Sarasota, FL just got too many boats and not enough boat businesses?

See you on the water!

That's a shame that your boat was delivered in that unacceptable condition.............and it's even worse that you had to fix them all yourself. Not wanting to do minor warranty work is ridiculous! You're going to have to go higher up the chain like corporate Bennington to get things resolved. Do they know what's going on up to this point?!? Your dealer sounds like they're not worth a crap!

Hopefully one day everything will be fixed and in working condition and you will be able to look back on all of this and.............. laugh! STAY POSITIVE!

Trust me, it aint Florida......... and It's not just the boat business.

I have a couple customers out of 100's that no matter what we do, the vendor or us screw something up, each and every time.

It seems like Murphy's law is just attracted to certain people.

Just be careful and NEVER say, "well it can't get much worse", cause it can !!!

Hopefully your good luck is just around the corner !!

Also, at 1/2 being $1500 ($3000), why didn't you go with a Bennington enclosure. I thought that's about the going price.

I have similar luck..................but my local dealership now has a new service writer and he is finally getting after Bennington about warranty stuff that they need to address and not letting them off the hook, the dealership owner actually had to pull some higher up strings for one issue the service dept. couldn't get them to want to address like my scratched vinyl floor and poorly made bow gate seat which caused the scratches. Being a life long heavy diesel tech and a super anal one who doesn't like redo work and have always had a good personal rep with all my customers over the years for being this way I am even worse when it comes to my own personal stuff, warranty is the only time someone else touches my equipment and half the time I have to redo it to my own personal standards when I get it back.

Stick with it " Come Monday", it will get better. Life has its moments, but the as you look back on it next year all the heartburn will be just a memory. I traded last year but kept the motor. Well, I guess the motor had fallen in love with the other boat . Right at the get go It has been one problem after another. I think, and hope  after much work on replacing Carbs. (re-built didn't work out) fuel lines, primer bulbs, check valve, and lastly fuel pump and $2k, we  now have a marriage. My fingers crossed,  Part way through this ordeal we really thought that someone or something had put a curse on the new Benny, No. Just mechanics.

Sorry for all your problems but at least they are getting resolved.

On a good note; I'm jealous, we love the Sarasota area.... Siesta Key, Lido Key and St Armands Circle are heaven.
