Hello everyone, like to hear from the experienced pontoon owners :) my first pontoon from a bass boat.
I’m curious will I be able to have some good pulling power when tubing say with few adults on the boat and pulling 1 adult of 200 lbs or 2 kids of 12-14 yrs old ?? How about a wake board? Help would be great ! Thanks pontooners :)

Thanks Frank

Hello and Welcome!

Sorry for this perspective…

Frankly (sorry…couldn’t resist), I don’t believe so. Traditional bi-toon? I think she’ll bog down VERY quickly with any weight either on board or on the pontoon. Tubers REALLY bog down a pontoon fast, so with just a 60hp to start with, I don’t think it will offer much of anything for tubing other than for really slow and straight rides say with really young kids. Hopefully you have other great uses in mind for it. Pictures? Should be a great slow cruiser, hangout boat, fishing boat, etc… Water sports…not so much.

I was able to ski behind my first pontoon and it had two 19" tubes and an Evinrude 60! Granted, I was on a pair of wooden skis and I had to hold my breath for a while until the skis finally planed. So you can definitely pull a tube or wakeboard. But like Vikingstaff said, it won't be fast. Still, I bet your kids would enjoy it.
