Helped my neighbor launch his 1st ever boat today (Sunday). A 20 ft. jet boat. Well, actually he helped me. He bought it last fall and stored it in his 4 car garage. He's never trailered a boat or launched one at the ramp before. He doesn't even have a tow vehicle. So we pushed it out of his garage hooked it up to our Expedition and off we went. Got the boat in the water and my neighbor and his wife was gone. I brought the trailer back to his house. About 3 hrs. later I get a call asking my wife and I to meet them at the slip across from ours across the street so we could teach them how to set fenders and tie up. The first thing he says to me is........the boat ran great, got it up to 50 mph, but I think I should have bought a pontoon boat. So much more room.                  Hmmm hmm!

Sounds like he had fun, but I'd highly recommend a boaters safety course if he didn't already do it. Nothing scarier than a brand new owner zipping around in his first ever boat at 50 mph ....

They both have experience w/boats and have taken the North Carolina boater safety course. They have just never owned their own boat before.....

Found out this morning that he went to check on his boat 3 times after putting it away yesterday. Ha Rookies!

My friend had a small jet boat, he had a lot of experience with large boats but boy did he have trouble docking that thing in the beginning.  When you get off the throttle that thing had a mind of its own consequently he would come in with too much speed to dock and hit the throttle more for adjustments.  Lots of fun to watch :p

A buddy of mine has a Monterey 214ss, his wife said they should have bought a pontoon after being on ours! Sometimes we go sit at the park bench and watch the boat ramp. Amazing what you see there.

I had some "driving" experience with boats, but my "first" boat was a Four Winns Fling jet boat. I loved it, but Panthergirl HATED it as I zipped up and down the river 45-50 mph. It was cool though, I could go full throttle, hit reverse, slam it back in forward and bring a big old wave over the bow and drench her ...  :p  Needless to say, we ended up moving to pontoons. I do miss the speed sometimes, but not the fuel bill. We now cruise the weekend on $10 of fuel (20hp) vs. $60 weekend on the (115hp) Fling.

I HAVE NEVER LOOKED BACK!!

Should have added; The person with the jet boat now owns a Bennington

At least it was easy to find where it went down!

Oh that's what that is, I thought it was the periscope

I had a 6 passenger SeaDoo twin engine jet boat

Was capable of 60 mph with just the driver at the wheel

Loved that boat, at the time younger.

Kids enjoyed tubing at a much safer speed and we had a great time

But

Nothing Compares to a Bennington

The Benny was the way to go at this stage of life :)

Looking forward to an amazing summer
